You probably recognise Jamie Blakey. From here on our journal (via our peek into her fab Yamba AirBnB), through her fashion career or her Instagram, which shows off her rock-chic aesthetic and relaxed coastal life. Or, maybe this is your first encounter. Her style is undeniable and draws you in instantly with its easy charm.
Recently, team C+G were lucky enough to set foot in her gorgeous Avalon home in Sydney’s Northern Beaches. Riffing off both her love for coastal hues and rock’n’roll motifs, the styling has an effortlessly cool yet relaxed feel.

Finished in 2017, the minute you step inside the Blakey home you feel welcomed by a luxe warmth. The tone is set by bright whites, chic charcoal and rich materials and finishes, including the Carlotta+Gee linens that dress each bed.

Despite the relaxed vibe, you can sense Jamie’s intention behind it all. Each object feels considered, bespoke or with a hidden story to tell. As an example, the timber that features throughout, from the front gates and textural doors to a handsome bedhead, were all recycled from nearby timber yards. "They are from Sydney's wool sheds and piers around the harbour," Jamie says.

While exploring her beachside home we were lucky enough to squeeze in a chat about why she loves our linen so much, her favourite room in the house and adding texture to the decor.

C+G: How would you describe your gorgeous home in Avalon?
JB: We love high-end earthy textures and palettes but with a relaxed, easy-living, welcoming vibe. Loads of natural light and a nive breeze that flows through.
C+G: Tell us about the textures of the place?
JB: The ranch aesthetic runs through the Avalon property in subtle as well as practical ways. A shower curtain - chosen over a glass insert for its softness - is crafted from an upcycled truck canvas, which was rubbed with wax to waterproof it. Other beautiful touches, standing out from what decor enthusiasts may commonly choose, are deer antlers on the gate, which were ethically sourced from a farm in Tasmania (deer shed their antlers seasonally).

C+G: We love that you are a great friend of our brand, and have been sleeping in C+G since the start - what do you love most about it?
JB: I like to choose bedding combinations that make a statement with colour, and yet are tonally within nature's own palette, hand-in-glove with the aesthetic of being close to the earth and living on the land. Carlotta + Gee’s sheets are the softest and most comfiest and I am so glad my whole family sleeps in them. I feel like the tones of bedding add the next layer of the look we are going for. The bottle greens and sages, and the denim tones also, are excellent, it lends itself to the ranch vibe. To sleep in their linen is a whole different experience, it feels silky, but it has weight to it - soft, flowy, delicious.
C+G: We hear you have other properties now which people can stay in - please give us a snapshot of these.
JB: The Black Ace is in Yamba - a coastal beach town in Northen New South Wales. Opening soon is Sundowner (@sundowner_yamba). It’s next door to the Black Ace and will offer 2 x 3 bedroom apartments renovated into mid century Californian style surf shacks complete with a pool!
And another secret project I’m working on with some mates in the Byron area that will open in 2023! Biggest one yet!
